Henry Quick

I have had a deep interest in both art and history from an early age. I studied Art and Design before becoming a teacher in inner city Manchester where I spent my entire career. I live in Stockport where I also have my studio.

My paintings evolve over long periods and contain many materials other than conventional canvas and paint. My practice attempts to reflect the attraction I have for the physical surfaces constantly encountered in everyday life --- rust and stains, the cracks in a wall, the faded paint on woodwork.
